Flowers and leaves are collected from the local landscape and pressed but not dried completely. Composition is planned prior to inking with Akua intaglio inks. Daubers are used to mix colors and then stipple ink onto both sides of the leaves. Gently patting the leaves with inks using a foam dauber allows clarity of shape and texture to be evident in the final print. Arches etching paper is dampened and placed on the printing press bed. Tweezers are used to place the inked items in the compositional arrangement. A second piece of dampened Arches etching paper is placed on top of the inked items. Felt blankets cover the papers for printing on the etching press. This wonderous technique produces two prints in a single run on the press! Prices are based upon size of final artwork and complexity of composition.
